6602 - Client Comm Layer Timeout Waiting for Receive Packets

1.Check to see if the ChartnetShared.ADD data dictionary exists in the \system\shared folder.

2.See if the firewall on the host side is checking for valid http protocol on port 443 (or whatever port ADS is using for the Internet). If so, this must be turned off so that ADS can use port 443 using it's own protocol.

3.See if user is connected to a VPN.

4.Check to see if the ADS Internet port is being fowarded to the ChartNet DB server by the firewall.

5.The AdsConnection.ConnectPath points to a directory that does not contain a data dictionary.

6.If the DB server is a Windows 2008, must update the Windows Firewall and create two "Ports", one for 12905 and one for 443 (or whatever Internet port Advantage is set to). Alternative solution would be to turn off Windows Firewall completely and rely on the external firewall to control traffic.

7.This error would only occur for tables that are accessed using ADS "remote access" technique or using the Advantage Internet Server technique.
