ChartVox Solo is a PC-based dictation product that uses the Philips Speech Mike. ChartVox Solo has been designed to integrate with ChartNet using an XML file interface similar to how ChartVox Solo integrates with McKesson's PACS system. This chapter describes the interface files and formats used to integrate to the ChartNet application (MTSOLO).
Terms:
PACS - Picture Archive and Communication System
Study - Set of images with the same accession number
Dictated Study - A study for which an audio version of the report exists in the dictation system.
Transcribed Study - A study for which a transcription exists.
Reported Study - A study signed off by the radiologist
Assigning Authority - The system that generated the accession number
User ID - The identifier of the authenticated user
Patient Context - Patient who's studies are currently displayed
Order - One or more studies, each with the same order number
Order-based reading - A dictation workflow wherein the user creates one dictation per order
Basic Workflow:
1.The user selects one or more accession records from a Radiology Pick List which then creates an XML file (trigger file) in a folder which is shared with the dictation system. The dictation system will monitor the shared folder for that trigger file. Upon detection of the trigger file, it will parse the information and delete the file.
2.After the dictation is completed, ChartVox Solo will create an XML file (response file) in the shared folder which MTSOLO is monitoring. Upon detection of the response file, MTSOLO will parse the information and delete the file. The status of the study will be updated in the ChartNet system.
3.If the user decides to interrupt a dictation and switch to a different study, the MTSOLO program will create a "Context Change" XML file. This file will tell the dictation application to suspend the current dictation and start a new dictation.
