THIS SITE USES A MASTER PATIENT INDEX (MPI) DIRECTLY OR THROUGH A FILE OVERRIDE:  Should be selected If you are receiving ADT for this site.

 

DISPLAY MPI SEARCH SCREEN When transcribing a new document for this site, if Display MPI search screen when starting new report is selected,  the MPI search screen will display.

 

Ask user to confirm patient selected during MPI search.  If this is selected, the user will be prompted to confirm the patient selected from the MPI lookup.

 

UPDATE MPI FILE AFTER CREATING A NEW REPORT:  If Update MPI file after creating a new report, if MPI does not have a record for this patient is selected, users have the ability to update the MPI table if there is no record for a patient.

 

MPI LOOKUP FIELD:  Defining the MPI Lookup Field defines whether the provider is sending the Account Number or Medical Record Number with the voice file.

 

FACILITY CODE:  If there are multiple facilities for this Site, you can enter a facility code to filter the MPI by that facility.  If you receive an ADT feed for a facility with many locations, they can send the facility code in an HL7 data field.  This is useful only when having multiple sites using file overrides for the MPI.

 

OPTIONAL MPI FIELD TO MAKE KEY UNIQUE:  If the facility is not sending an encounter or visit #, only a medical record number, an additional field is needed to make the key unique, i.e., VISITDT (visit date).
