ExpandType is ChartNet's proprietary expander, or macro, program. ExpandType is a full-featured typing aid that allows the user to build a list of phrases that can be automatically inserted into a report using an abbreviation that is assigned by the user.

 

Users may import an existing library of shortcuts to ExpandType or build their own library. New entries may be added at any time, while existing entries may be edited or deleted, as required. Macros may be categorized in ExpandType, allowing for easier and faster reference.

 

Although some third-party expander programs may work with ChartNet, it is recommended users take advantage of ExpandType to ensure macros work as intended. ExpandType works with both the ChartNet and M*Modal Editors, although any formatting completed in ExpandType will be lost when using macros in the M*Modal Editor.
