The Fax Sender (MTSNDFAX) service is responsible for faxing reports from a remote server. It works by communicating to the MTFAX program, which resides on the ChartNet host server. The MTFAX program is responsible for finding reports that need to be faxed and telling MTSNDFAX which reports to fax and to whom.

 

Multiple instance of MTSNDFAX can be run with each instance of MTSNDFAX handling a single modem. If fax volumes warrant, multiple modems must be installed on the server and an instance of MTSNDFAX must be configured to handle each modem. Each instance of MTSNDFAX can be configured to handle one or more sites.

 

Configuration is done using the "Edit" option when right-clicking on the MTSNDFAX record in the Service Controller list.
