A Template may contain one or multiple lines of text, as well as section titles, lists, and tables. They may also include blank spaces for you to fill-in from the dictation. Templates may be referred to by a Provider while dictating, such as 'please insert my normal chest x-ray.' Additionally, you may be instructed to insert Templates for specific worktypes.
Templates are maintained and stored by your account manager or supervisor. They may be inserted to Transcribe or Review jobs. The steps to insert a Template are the same for both the ChartNet Editor and M*Modal Editor.
Finding the Correct Template
When inserting a template to your report, note that only those templates specific to your account and physician will be available from the Templates Lookup window. By default, only those templates for your dictating Provider will be accessible. In addition, templates used site-wide will also be accessible.
You may search for other physicians' templates using the Search function in the Templates Lookup window. Or, you may select Show All to see all templates available for your account. To learn more, visit Templates Lookup Window.
Template Grouping
Templates may be stored in Groups. Your manager or supervisor will determine if templates are to be stored in Groups and will notify you of the appropriate Group codes. For example, all Radiology Templates may be stored in the Group RAD. You may use the Group codes to quickly locate or sort templates.
