The beginning of a draft document may contain text highlighted in gray. Often, the beginning of a dictation contains information to confirm the patient name, medical record, etc. When transcribing a report, you would not transcribe this confirmation information. Instead, this information is used to verify and complete the Report Data Screen.

Since this information is dictated, but not a part of the document, M*Modal highlights it in gray in draft documents. Text highlighted in gray is 'hidden,' meaning it will not display in the final document. As long as the text remains highlighted in gray, the text will never appear outside of the M*Modal Editor. There is no need to edit, verify, or complete the Hidden Text. Leave this information as you found it - it will be removed when you submit the document.
