An Email device is used to email documents to a specific email address. Emails are sent unencrypted so therefore no medical documents should be sent to an email device.
NOTE: In order to use email distribution, your system must be set up with MTMAILNS
1. Create an Address record including the email address.
a. Address Code is a unique record identifier.
b. Sort Name is used to alphabetize the address records.
c. Name is the description of the address record.
d. Distribution method should be set to EMAIL.
e. In the E-mail address field enter the email address.
f. On the misc tab, enter Y for "No encryption of emails".
2. Create an Email device
a, Printer and Outbound Interface File Location set to HOST.
b. On the Fax/Email tab, link the address containing the email address to the device.
