A fax device is used to fax documents to a specific fax number.
NOTE: In order to set up a fax distribution, your host system needs to be running MTFAX
1. The first step is to create an Address record with a fax number.
a. Address Code is a unique record identifier.
b. Sort Name is used to alphabetize the address records.
c. Name is the description of the address record.
d. Distribution method should be set to FAX.
e. Enter Fax Area Code and Fax Phone number.
| f. Faxing is long distance call from the HOST system - If faxing is done from the HOST Chartnet system and the number is long distance. |
| g. Faxing is long distance call from REMOTE system - If faxing is done from a REMOTE Chartnet system and the number is long distance. |
| h. Don't use dialing prefix when faxing to this number - Used if you want to ignore the predefined dialing prefix defined for the system for this number. |
| i. Include a fax cover sheet - If you have a fax cover sheet defined and want to include that with every fax to this address. The fax cover sheet needs to be set up as a Form. |
| j. Batch faxing scheduled start time/end time - If this address should only receive faxes during specific times of the day you can put in that range here. The time is in military format. For example 5:00 PM would be 17:00. |
| k. On the Address MISC tab you can set the override fax priority. 2 is normal, 1 is priority. |
| l. You can also set the Preferred fax server ID: This is used if you have multiple remote fax servers and you only want this faxed from a specific server. |
| a. Add a new device. Select no at the device file wizard. |
| b. Device code is a unique identifier for this device record. |
| c. Enter a device description. |
| d. Device Type should be set to "Fax to specific address". |
| e. Printer and outbound interface file location should be set to Host. |
| f. On the Fax/Email tab link the Fax address from step 1 to the device. |
